Magma is a large, well-supported software package designed to solve
computationally hard problems in algebra, number theory, geometry and
combinatorics.
It provides a mathematically rigorous environment for computing with
algebraic, number-theoretic, combinatoric, and geometric objects.

The book
Discovering Mathematics with Magma
(Eds Bosma and Cannon) has now been published by Springer.
This book presents 14 case studies of the application of Magma to
problems in a variety of areas of mathematics.
The Magma code appearing in this book is now available for download.

May 5, 2007: The Magma web site is undergoing a redesign.
Every effort is being made to keep links functional during the
transitional period.

April 20, 2007:
Magma is now available for the Intel Mac under OS X.
Initially, a 32-bit version is provided and it is hoped that
a 64-bit version will follow in some months.
