All linear algebra over local rings and fields in Magma is implemented in
terms of the fixed precision model. Internally, linear algebra over free
precision models is performed over an appropriate quotient ring. The advantage
of this method is that exact algorithms can be used to solve linear systems;
the disadvantage is that the answer may be returned to less precision than is
theoretically possible.
