A student version is made available at a greatly reduced price
(US$ 100; concessions may apply for residents of developing
countries).

The student version is intended only for students enrolled at a school
or University who are paying with their personal funds.
Proof of enrolment must be submitted with a request for the student version.

Special offers are available for institutions who wish to use the student
version in their teaching.
The student version discussed here is not available for purchase by
institutions.
It is a breach of the conditions of the licence to install the student
version on an institutional or company-owned machine.

Only payments by credit card can be accepted (Mastercard or Visa).

The relationship between this version and the full version is as follows:

The student version contains all user-level functions that are present
in the full version.
However, in a few cases some high-performance versions of algorithms
may be omitted.

The student version is restricted to a workspace of 150 MB.

Some advanced databases are not available with the student version.
However, all databases that are in common use are included.

The student version comes with full documentation in HTML form.
The PDF versions of the Handbook are not supplied with the student
version.
However, the complete content is contained in the HTML document.

Support is provided for 90 days from the date of creating
the download account.

The student version is available only for x86-compatible PCs running
Windows or Linux, or for Macintoshes running Mac OS X.

It is the responsibility of the licensee to take reasonable steps to
prevent copying (either manually or electronically) of the system by
unauthorised persons.

The software is supplied on an "As is basis".
There is no warranty express or implied for this software product.
The University of Sydney is not liable for failure of the software to
perform in the manner specified or for losses resulting from failure
of the software to perform as required.

A formal order is regarded as agreement to comply with these conditions.

The ordering procedure is as follows:

An applicant for a student licence submits the accompanying
order form.
and forwards proof of enrolment to the Magma group by fax
(to +61 2 9351 4534 : Attn: Magma Group) or PDF file
(to magma@maths.usyd.edu.au).

Receipt of the order form will be automatically acknowledged.

As soon as the credit card payment is accepted, instructions will be
forwarded for downloading the student version from the Magma download
page.
