The student version of Magma is no longer available to individuals. Institutions with a Magma licence may arrange student versions for their students through the institutional contact.
Professor John Cannon, the founder of Magma, has been recognised for his many achievements by being appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2026 Honours List. The award was given for distinguished service to tertiary education, to mathematical computation, to cryptography, and to the development of algebraic software systems.
