Rational Function Fields

Given any field k and indeterminates $x_1, \ldots, x_n$, the user may form the field of rational functions $k(x_1, \ldots, x_n)$ as the localization of the polynomial ring $k[x_1, \ldots, x_n]$ at the prime ideal $\langle x \rangle$.
