  • An Introduction to Differential Galois Theory in MAGMA
  • 3pm–4pm, Thursday 6th March, 2003
  • Carlaw 535
  • In this talk we present some basic concepts of the Galois theory of linear differential equations. We introduce the differential Galois group and a strongly related group, the monodromy group, of a linear differential equation.

At the end we present a method of calculating rational solutions of a linear differential equation, that has been implemented in MAGMA. Examples are given throughout the talk.
